I've been trying out Mastodon now for a couple of days. Twitter, being basically a cesspool already and probably going worse with Elon Musk at the helm, which means that it might become a place I'd like to avoid, caused me to go look for an alternative. I almost immediately had the owner tell me that there should be a content warning on my work, while I did check that box in my personal prefs and I only posted stuff I post on Instagram and Facebook too. That check box turned out to be just for my own browsing. Not like on Deviant Art where you can set a Mature Content fence up and nobody can see anything, unless they uncheck that box in their own prefs. On Mastodon you have to add a warning for every separate post. And you cannot just add Content Warning (CW). An Announcement

Hello, I have, reluctantly, removed all images uploaded to DeviantArt over the past 15 years. I have been a Core Member in the past, but I'm aware that lapsed a while ago. The images were, largely, artworks connected with projects I have either written or edited. While I appreciate DeviantArt has taken steps to protect art from being included in its "DreamUp" AI learning program, I don't feel it is appropriate for me to continue to feature others work here, despite the "safeguards" announced. I'm sorry if this disappoints. I'm even sorrier I had to choose to do this. Thank you for reading.
